You can be proud of Town Clerk Kathy Kelly-Regan and her team of registrars. The process is smooth and well-organized.

When I reached the polls at 6:05 or 6:10, the parking lot was packed. As I drove down Route 202 through the fog, I couldn't see East Meadow School. It wasn't until I was far up the drive way before I saw that my dreams of being the first person in Granby to cast a vote today were dashed (I was somewhere between the thirtieth and the fiftieth). Looking at the parking Iot, I hoped I would get to work on time.

I actually got to work early. Kathy has the school set up so voters enter the doors on the far right of the school. Once in retired Granby Police Detective Dave Trompke directed me down the hall toward the polling station. The hall was divided by a bench into two "lanes" depending on the first letter of the street you live on. Once in the cafeteria, my lane turned left to a table where I  gave a registrar my name and received a ballot.

In less than a minute's wait, I was at a booth filling out my ballot. The booths were also set up in two lanes that led to two tables for checking out. We also have two voting machines so there were no bottlenecks wating to submit my vote.

The whole process took less than 10 minutes.

I'm sure things will get busier after work, but the process was extremely well-organized. When you see Kathy Kelly-Regan, let her know she's doing a good job.
